I think Bruce was messed up way back.
My grandmother lived in Lamoni, Iowa (home of Graceland College) for most of her adult life. I spent a lot of time there as a kid. I remember being really excited that an Olympian came from Graceland and wanting to talk to granny about him. I was only a little younger than Jenner at the time.
Lamoni isn’t a very big town and everyone knew everything as is true in a lot of small towns. Granny told me she “didn’t want to talk about that fella” and the only thing she would say when asked why was “he’s strange.” I chalked it up to her being a protective grandmother...apparently she knew more than I thought.
