thanks! yes, I like the sort of neutral shades, then you don’t clash with anyone or stand out too much as a guest. my mother of the bride dress was similarly neutral but just more glittering with sequins and short.

Weddings are so stressful because you want everything to go perfectly and there is so much opportunity for things to go wrong. I hope you don’t get sick - My daughter traveled half way across the country to a wedding a few years ago - she was a bridesmaid. She had a horrible upper respiratory infection but didn’t realize it yet - was running fever and actually didn’t know if she could stand during the ceremony but handled it like a champ. Got home and diagnosed and was in pretty bad shape for awhile. She is prone to pneumonia - had it several times as a child so we are very concerned when she gets that sick.

I literally must have bought 20+ dresses online from Nordstrom and took them back, when I was deciding, over a period of 3-4 months. I was very happy with my choice.

I can’t speak to the fashion sense, but there seems to be a bit of snobbishness to the reaction. Of course, once something once trendy is now mass market the truly trendy will look down their noses and go to the next trendy thing.

Sort of like a female version of only liking a rock band when they are small and “cultish” and not when they “sell out” and can fill arenas.

Very nice! Appropriate and attractive! Some MOTB dresses are frumpy, but that one is stylish. Nordstrom has nice clothing.

I got about half way through that article - it is becoming laughable how writers have to blame everything on being white/rich. Why is it you can go to any black church and see grown men wearing the most gaudy colored suits, with hats and shoes matching, yet colors on women are infantilizing? lol

My daughter bought a beautiful Lilly blouse for the engagement party she is attending this weekend.

he’s a contrarian. He was notorious as a little kid at Caps games for wearing diff teams jerseys other than the Caps. he is a caps fan, but he does prefer the Preds.

thanks. I am just not generally a long dress kind of person, so it was hard to find something I liked and would feel comfortable in, I wanted something pretty plain and not foofy.

well the snobby lilly fans were that way, but Robin Givhen’s reaction is pure white priviledge recoil. It really isn’t mass market now bc the Target sales was an extremely limited time, just that one day. xsteen tried to log onto the site first thing and it had crashed, all stores sold out in no time flat.

free shipping both ways, really easy to just order stuff and try it on and return what you don’t want. there is no reason to go to a store IMO.

It wasn’t until I got to the end of the article and saw who wrote it that I realized that was exactly the perspective she was coming from. I am familiar with her and she’s an HUGE OBOT. Bet your daughter will look great for the engagement party!

The WFTD brings to mind the memorable Carol Burnett skit
where they were panning "Gone With The Wind" ....
