UI is not clumsy. Might take a little getting used to (touch, swipe, force-touch, crown spin, crown button, other button), but so did the iPhone. Untethered, probably just have mostly audio recording.
It is what it is, and isn’t everything else too.
Cool idea, but limited functionality — IMHO. I had something similar 20 years ago — the calculator watch and I actually found it useful although a bit clumsy.
Now if Apple could develop google glasses....
