Country music awards
Not watching. Country has gone ‘Hollyweird’ years ago.
Just started on West Coast. Got bored with it after a few minutes.
give me Patty Loveless, George Strait, Alan Jackson, David Ball, etc....
Garth has turned out to be a big so and so....
Country music died when the commie ‘RATs and fags took it over. RIP.
Nashville isn’t what it used to be.
It has shed some vices, but taken on others.
Lots of real thanks to Jesus. Also an appearance by Chris Kyle’s wife. Y’all shouldn’t complain so much about the closest thing we have to pro American entertainment and no fear of religion.
Garth was great! He was introduced by Chris Kyle’s wife, and members of our military paced into the arena as Garth took off in song! VERY MOVING!
Garth and Troy Aikeman and others remembered OKLAHOMA today as the 20th anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing at the Murrow Federal Building.
Boring is NOT the word I would use for those moments. A lot of good music, not all, but a lot. Brookes & Dunne were fun singing, Maria.
The woman who just won an award thanked her lord and savior Jesus Christ with a round of applause in the audience that was really nice to see
I’m a bit more chary of claims to be exalting Jesus when noting how Miranda Lambert’s “Jesus Take The Wheel” turned out (she gave said wheel back to the devil, apparently).
Some could be true — I hope they are — but we are no longer in an age where someone talking about Jesus can be presumed to be honest or of marked conviction about it.
A lot here on Free Republic need to heed Andrew Breitbart’s advice not to reject culture but to become a part of it and influence it. We lose if we just isolate ourselves and reject pop culture completely.
I like watching the Country Music Awards, Im just against that guy I think his name is Tim McGraw, the guy who says he hates guns but there are photos on facebook of his daughters holding guns..liberals are such hypocrites
If the door opens, don’t refuse... a buddy and I are attempting (along with thousands of others, it’s not like we are alone) to make an impact upon the explicit Christian pop country genre.
But it is a tricky, uphill, wind at our fronts journey. And at best, we are talking about media here. Evangelism (which is what it boils down to) takes multiple forms.
At best it sounds like he is trying to bow to two contradictory trends, simultaneously.
I could have been a country music singer.. but bass isn’t the best seller these days. I was scared of mics , agents and big berth women or sumthin’.
there used to be a country song in that.
I agree with you. The group is against guns for everyone.

I wonder if Timmy is going to take those guns that his daughters shoots out of their hands..there are pics all over facebook and twitter of his daughters shooting guns..gee, like with all liberal loons, its A OK for them, but not OK for any of us..and I wonder, all those celebrities who hate guns, they have armed guards right? Take their guns away and let them carry bananas instead
Did Miranda do a version of “Jesus Take the Wheel”? That song was a hit by Carrie Underwood and I don’t think anyone could question her faith.......
I don't pay much attention to country music, but I think he is the son of former MLB pitcher Tug McGraw.
Possibly a distant cousin of this guy, too, although I'm pretty sure they disagree on the guns:
