After reading this article, I had yet another conversation with my 13-year-old son to remind him that when being questioned by school officials, government employees of any agency, and especially the police, for any reason whatsoever, the only words out of his mouth are to be:
“I will not answer any questions or have any conversations without a parent or an attorney present. Am I being detained or am I free to go?”
Now THAT'S funny!!! I can just see the serious look on his face, and the jaws of the Stasi bouncing off the floor.
Of course, they'll probably call the cops anyways, just to be safe.
