I studied UFOs for a long time (not much anymore), and I concluded that they are manifestations of a non-human intelligence or energy, and probably NOT interplanetary spaceships.

So a "ping" may or may not establish if the craft was "real," that is, not a figment of your imagination. UFOs sometimes behave like physical objects, sometimes like ghosts or phantoms.

I don't even like the term "UFO," because it suggests that the objects are "flying" in the normal sense of the term, rather than merely creating the appearance of flying, something like a spotlight on a cloud.

It was a strange experience. My brother and friend were about 10 miles away that day in Yucca Valley hunting jackrabbits and they also saw three similar objects at a short distance or so it seemed.
