Long ago I had a "discussion" with a so-called "conservative" who waxed so gleefully about his small homebrewing beer hobby and how he gladly shared with friends and family his concoctions. I asked if he ever thought of maybe setting up a moonshine still and he went apoplectic. I reminded him that the Founders had their own distilleries and that these days the ATF and assorted Federal armies would have raided and arrested them for daring to distill without Fedgod approvals and permits. He saw no relevance.
On the booze front, saw that 3 part series with the dirty jobs guy a while back. How Booze Built America or some such. Can't speak to the veracity of it, but it was a helluva story. d:^)
