It's not a matter of having faith in the police. It's a matter of taking your life and liberty in your hands when you run from them. You only have to watch one or two episodes of COPS to figure that out. And that's when the police know they are on camera and are on their best behavior.

If you have a warrant out on you, man up and face the charges, because running will only compound your legal woes.

If you are innocent, running will almost ensure you of being charged with a 1st degree misdemeanor or even a felony. With possible jail time.

It's foolish to run from the police. Not to mention you look pretty pathetic doing so.

Sam Adams would have fired back at the police.

Running from the cops is a foolish mistake, but it shouldn’t come with a death sentence, nor is the cop authorized to play judge, jury and executioner.

Proportionality is vital to any justice system worthy of the name, and it’s not reasonable to assert that a street execution is proportional to the crime of fleeing the police. Any system where the enforcers of the law are not the ones most strictly bound by it is tyrannical by definition.

This is Bill of Rights 101 material. If that man did not have the right to trial by jury before his execution at the hands of the government, you and I do not either.
