In their state, the law says that someone under 8 has to be left with someone who is at least 13. The parents don’t like it, but it’s the law.
If it was an 8 year old and 10 year old, that would be a different story, but that isn’t the case and the parents were told of the law.
Normally I don’t like the govt. interfering, but the law is the law.
Define “left with.”
Parents taking off for the day and leaving the children at home alone, yes, I see it.
However, at the park, having fun?
Not quite the same as the parents taking off for the day and leaving the kids at home to fend for themselves. Nor is it quite the same as having a 10 year old babysit for an evening while the parents are gone.
So, no, the law doesn’t really apply in this case.
But, if you’re okay with a law being stretched beyond its intent, well, that’s on you.
