Simply, accept all business from gays and tell them that the money will be donated to a traditional pro-family lobby or organization.

Or refuse to accept any business from gays and the problem is solved.

Most of these businesses are small. I suspect they operate on a thin profit margin. It's easy for people to tell someone else to give away their money when those people don't have any skin in the game.

I think it fair that the business witholds the cost of replenishing supplies
and paying their workers, if they have any, leaving what is left, the net, to be donated.

No matter which way this is addressed the owners are likely to take a hit.
The hit, though, may very well backfire on the hitter...see Memories Pizza.

Pay attention.

These establishments are being told by law they have to provide services or go to court.

Do they go to court and show up with a cheap lawyer and lose their businesses? Or do they get $500 per hr lawyers and lose their businesses?

Or do they go to their religious leaders of whom they are claiming allegiance and opting out by conscientious objection and asking how to satisfy both religious and legal obligations?

Can’t refuse business because of personal feelings. Have to claim religious objections. Official ones. That’s the law.

If someone is smart and motivated the could look into counter suit with harassment claims but I dunno. I’m Not a lawyer

If one refuses to accept business from gays, one gets brought up on charges of discrimination

If one is willing to do that, fine. But they’ll be in trouble with the law

Are you following the news? This story? Or are you just jumping into the conversation wasting peoples’ time not knowing the story?

That tactic is exactly what is getting these bakers, florists and photograpers not only sued and harshly penalized, but also subjected to terroristic threats that the authorities refuse to handle or that there is no law in place to correct, such as flash mob protests by GLBTs outside their place of business and death threats by anonymous tweets or phone. If a small business owner has children, this is truly torture. If there are ways to withstand without losing one's livelihood entirely and putting one's children at risk, there is no harm in trying to find those ways, as this thread is trying to do.

Should past Christians have attempted to avoid being torn apart by lions, crucified, burned at the stake or subjected to the ducking stool? I understand the necessity for martyrdom in many cases; however, if some had not found ways to avoid persecution while remaining true to their faith, Christianity would not have survived.
