The video appears to be damning: a white police officer fatally shooting a black man in the back as he ran away.
The shooting of Walter Scott by North Charleston, S.C., police Officer Thomas Stager has generated national outrage. Stager has been fired and charged with murder.
Legal and police tactics experts said the video would be powerful evidence in the criminal case. But they say it still leaves Stagers defense with options.
One likely defense focus will be what is not on the video. The interaction between Scott and Stager before the shooting is not seen, nor is the traffic stop that began the incident. Defense attorneys will probably push on this, the experts said, telling jurors that the video doesnt tell the whole story.
What was the conversation and interaction between the officer and the subject? said retired Los Angeles police Capt. Greg Meyer. Why did the subject run away?

“What if the man was resisting arrest for serial killing preschoolers in satanic rituals? What if the guy was about to phase shift into a parallel universe in an attempt to contact himself causing a multi demensional pan universal implosive paradox? What about that?! /s “
Damn. I didn’t even consider those things.
I had considered that he was running back to his secret hideout where he keeps his disintegrating death ray.
I think it’s better to shoot him and take any chances lol. /snark
Which government agency pays you to try to disrupt this thread?
You have added nothing to the conversation and have done nothing but condescend and belittle anyone who disagreed with you. You've also demonstrated a wanton ignorance of this subject. Like another poster said, you clearly like the taste of boot.
Now scurry off to DU and give your snarky little after action report...
Troll
It looks very much unjustified, but it doesn’t matter. He is already convicted.
Hah, I don’t know, there are some strange comments in this thread though.
The only thing I am interested in is the truth, and that goes for the police too. You tell me what the facts are, and I will then do my best to decide if the right thing was done.
Now if you go and try to alter what the facts are, and in fact someone filmed you altering what the facts are, then I am going to be very inclined to not believe your version of events.
That appears to be what happened here. If this guy killed this man and then purposely planted evidence he knew to be false, then he is the worst of the worst of the worst. A murderer, a liar, and a corrupt individual who was entrusted with power and then abused it to the greatest possible extent.
That’s my thoughts on this one.
Oh well, if the LATIMES thinks so, then there must be!!!!
Cut and paste? Try again....
To be fair, he is not convicted by me. I am still open to hearing his side, but I will say it does look bleak for him. The video looks bad.
By what is available to me at this time, i cannot see a reason for him to kill that man.
Laughing AT you, not WITH you. Talk about a sssttttrrrrreeettttcccchhhhh
It is heartening to me that folks with opinions such as yours on this matter are a very small minority here.
You are in with a great group of...
Looks like a taser to me. Shaped like one. Appears to have the yellow image on its side.
Quick! You better hurry and have your government handler help you better craft your responses seeing as your feeble attempts are falling way short.
The article below says “Wires from Slagers Taser stretch from Scotts clothing to the officers hands.”

Since I am not a LEO, I can’t speculate on how far the wires might have reached or if they were still attached when the officer shot Scott. I also don’t know what police procedure is for handling a taser with wires that are attached to a suspect.
Take care.
This very thing happens every day, and is allowed to happen by good cops who would rather the bad guy get away than being perceived as a coward for shooting someone in the back. There are many instances, every day, where the cops lose the bad guys to avoid further bloodshed.
Just off hand, who do you blame for all the wetbacks in America? The government or the criminal employers who hire them?
Squirrel! Lol. I blame both.
Oh PLEASE. How about the possibility that there was a child beyond the dead man and the cop could have killed the child? You don’t shoot a man in the back because of the vague possibility that he has a knife in his pocket.
Bootlicker, thy name is Dutchboy88.
Your antinomian friends need to get over to your house with a dictionary...
Looks like it also has some yellow on the grip.
Run along now troll... Run along.
“Squirrel! Lol. I blame both.”
Ok, here’s one for you if you
care to look it up and see for
yourself. It’s about another dware.
Who shot Sam Bass and where did he
shoot him? Keep in mind what Bass
was doing.
By the way I blame the Employers. They
started it all and they are the only
ones who can stop it.
“Squirrel”? Whats that all about?
