Has anyone noticed lately that on Fox News everyone smacks their lips and makes a "tsk" noise when they begin to speak?
Obama does it, it's driving me nuts!
Whatever Ainsley Earhart, Patti Ann Brown, Megyn Kelly or Shannon Bream are doing with their lips is just fine with me!!
Turn down the volume and you won’t notice it.
How about "Well?" That is truly ubiquitous.
Signalman - I have noticed that as well as of late.
The guest is asked a question and begins the answer with “So, ...
In addition to that, I hear a lot of the “up talk” which is prevalent amongst the Millenials. They end every sentence with a rising inflection as if they are asking a question. Drives me crazy.
Is there any underlying political persuasion attributable to the above mentioned annoyances, or am I just being overly suspicious?
If anything else gets added to this list, I won’t be able to listen to TV or radio anymore.
LOL! Seriously, I’ve noticed a lot of people do it and I don’t know why.
Clones didn’t adapt to latest software update so well — a patch will be out soon.
Did you know PAB has an identical twin sister...?
I used to have the biggest crush on P.A.B.
No way ... it's everywhere - in every walk of life. Too many people say stupid things, start sentences with "so .." or "well, I mean..." or say things like "I know, right?!" It's aggravating. And don't get me started on the online shenanigans ... things like "should of" or "then" instead of "than" ... ugh!
Is this the end result from liberal teachings like Common Core or something? I usually notice it is younger people saying this, and I don't remember this ever being something commonly said by anyone and I'm in my 40s.
I’ve heard the millenials use the words like, well, you know, but what is fry? That’s a new one unless it is an outburst from their subconscious mind in response to the oft said, “Do you want fries with that?”
I think I know what you mean about thank yew. Is it when someone would say thank you normally, and then the person would respond with, “no, thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuu”. Is that what you mean? Where they draw out the you part or say it as if it were a question?
and now it looks like a cross between Megyn Kelly and Lisa Kudrow.
Again I ask who is PAB
My SN son in addition to other things also has misophonia and he can’t tolerate that between phrases little smack. I am more sensitive to the fact that I sometimes do it because of him.
That vocal fry. That is like a nuclear bomb. One weekend not long ago on KFI they were giving Meghan McCain a chance at a show. Her vocal fry was absolutely station changing. It was painful. Ending every phrase with that scrapy slide, which seems to mean the speaker could not care less, and could peel paint from a car. The ststion must have felt the same because she has not been back. I had no idea what her subject matter was; listening was too painful.
No. Think pronunciation. Normally, it’s more like “yoo” ... but teens (and some adults unfortunately) pronounce it more like “yew”
Like nails on a chalkboard to me. ugh.
