Remember those medicine cabinets that had the slot in the back where you could drop your old blades? I'll bet bathroom remodelers love those.
Does anyone know why the spate of alternative razor commercials are flooding the airways?
I’ve been buying 3 blade BIC replaceable. 8 blades and a handle for $6.75. Not quite as good as some of the high end stuff, but not 30 bucks either. been going over 2 weeks on 1 blade and I have a tough beard.
I do Dollar Shave Club.
They come in 3, 4 and 6 blade flavors which all fit the same handle, so you can pick the cheapest that works for you (even the most expensive refills are about $1.50 per cartridge)
Not made in USA, but in the free country of South Korea.
Thought about going to an old school razor at one point, but I have a rather uncommon blood type....
I bought a shaving mug, brush, soap, safety razor, and I get 100 Dorco blades off eBay for 8 bucks.
I went old school...
When you get old enough, just buy a good hair clipper and
run it over your face every 4 or 5 days set on 1.
Haven’t used a razor in years. Don’t miss it.
Nothing beats a straight razor.
A good cut-throat wet shave is like a bubble bath for guys.
I’ve been shaving with a Feather Artists Club for a couple of years now. Nothing is cleaner, closer, or more comfortable, although the learning curve is a bit bloody.
Razor blades cost too damn much.
But that does not mean they don’t perform. The Gillette Mach 3 I use is great shave. Razor burn was my bain before they came out.
Also if you are shaving your lady friend, comfort and closeness is a big deal.
I find shaving in the shower, at the end of my shower, allows cheap no-name razors to last for a month or two.
Do it. Get a Merkur handle, and buy an assortment of blades. Get a mug and brush and some soap pucks, and you’re on your way!
I prefer the Feather and Astra blades myself. I got a two year supply for about $10.
You can find a lot of stuff on Amazon. Our local stores carry the mugs and brushes (Walmart/Fred Meyer).
Get a nice after shave or two, too. :^)
I can usually use my Gillette fusion blades last a month or better.
I am a new Harry’s customer. 16 blades is $25 or $1.56 per blade. That is comparable to the lower quality generic brands.
If clogging is your only problem us dish soap. I used Dawn when I ran out of gel and never went back. Rinses out of razor way better.
I’ve been using disposable razors for at least 5 years and have no complaints. They’re cheap, light weight, do a good job and last quite a long time.
