What lies do you speak of?
Jesus went to celebrations where humans have traditionally had wine (and not as a mere politeness or sterile water source).
Jesus made wine (at a particular event, and timing therein, where alcohol would be most appreciated by most participants).
Jesus admonished followers of imbibing _too_much_ wine, never against taking any at all.
Jesus spoke often of “wine” as a positive analogy to good behavior.
Jesus used wine as an analogy/medium of his own blood (as greatest gift).
A practical matter of the day: squeeze grapes, collect juice, it begins fermenting immediately (if not before) and constitutes “wine” within days.
And no, it wasn’t a KGB plot.
The KGB only got started a century ago.
