Do Freepers believe the average credit card debt is $15K? I was flabbergasted when I saw that. Is that really the case?

Mine isn't and hasn't been since I did the math on the interest a couple of decades ago. But I have a number of friends who are quite open about being $20K or more in credit card debt. These are also people with student loan debt. They do not expect to be out of debt ever in their lives. And it doesn't bother them!
Honestly, it seems a little low to me but I would guess it depends on region. Still though, 15K plus the high rates has to be a killer.
