Justin Verlander leaves start with arm cramping
Aaron Gleeman Mar 27, 2015, 2:34 PM EDT
After a lengthy conversation with the Tigers trainer Justin Verlander left todays start with what the team is calling cramping in his right triceps muscle.
The immediate word is that hes expected to take his next turn in the rotation, but Jason Beck of MLB.com also reports that Verlander will be examined further Saturday.
Verlander is trying to bounce back from a rough 2014 season that saw him allow the most earned runs in the league on the way to a 4.54 ERA and just 159 strikeouts in 206 innings. Prior to todays start he had a 6.08 ERA this spring, allowing nine runs in 12.1 innings with an 8/5 K/BB ratio. http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/03/27/justin-verlander-leaves-start-with-arm-cramping/
