Flew Southwest to a wedding last Oct. Six family members were aboard.
Grandkids 12 and 17 had never flown before.
As grandson and I were boarding via a ramp, the cockpit was open so I shouted: ‘we have first-timers aboard!’
The pilot said immediately back: ‘I’m a first-timer too!’ Southwest for ya.
17 year old grandson didn’t quite know what to make of it even tho he’s very bright, but he knows I’m a joker.
I gave up my favorite seat at a window so grandson could look out/down. Not sure he appreciated it!
I did not fly home with them. When I did return, I asked if they felt the updraft/lift going over the Rockies from Denver/DIA.
Did they ever - they did not think it was normal. I forgot to tell them about that - meant to.
I truly love to fly. Especially when it’s a moonlit night.
PS
Since 9-11, whenever there’s been Muslim-looking types aboard ‘my’ plane, I have groaned, but thought: ‘what are the chances - - ??’
