that woman is in excess of 300#....a marathon for someone of that size is a fools errand and inviting severe and permanent medical problems.
The cop did the decent thing - BUT she had no business being there to begin with and the promoters opened themselves up to a huge liability in allowing it.

Your math seems to be incorrect. Per the info in the story, she weighs 258 lbs, not over 300 lbs. What she did was courageous. Was she prepared for the run? Maybe, maybe not. That’s her call, not yours. It’s her life, not yours. And the police officer did the right thing, providing human support and encouragement. Kudos to both of them. Hopefully, she’ll continue the hard task of significant weight loss and improve her overall health.

I find your post an excellent example of part of what is wrong with the world. It has become full of naysayers and mockers, but then the Bible warns us of that is to come.
When I look at that picture I see a son obeying God's commandment to honor his Mother. I see a stranger the Cop loving his 'Sister' as he loves himself.
As for me:
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8
I in accordence with The Word I will think on these things I learned of.

that woman is in excess of 300#....a marathon for someone of that size is a fools errand and inviting severe and permanent medical problems. She was running a 10K, which is only about a quarter of a marathon. Even at her weight, I don't believe that's a dangerous distance. It's hard to even walk 6 miles, but if she has been exercising for a while it is doable. My hat is off to her for trying to change her life and doing what she can to get healthier.

that is utter BS. A 10k is 6.2 miles.
It takes a world of guts to cross the start line. It is her business and her decision to be a rugged individual.
Obama is not going to run the course for her. (too busy with his golf and hanging curtains)
She made a decision not to give up. She was going to finish even though the crew was ready to take down the finish line.
I wonder what the percentage is for people who actual do a 10k? it must be something like .00001% of the population.
To enter you have to sign a waiver by the way. They stand up in court.
