If you can shoot 308 well, you can shoot anything. It’s a round that takes skill.

Agreed. You must master all the fundamentals to shoot the 7.62 well. Once upon a time I did, nailing 10 bulls at 500 meters (20" bull) prone with iron sights.
It would take a helluva lot of practice to get back to that now, 67 year old vision allowing. Nothing like several days of "snapping in" to imprint muscle memory.
It’s mediocre at best and takes no more skill than any other round.
