Want to shoot prairie dogs at 800 yards at a semi-reasonable cost (reloading). 220 swift.

5.56? Great patrol round, i.e. you can carry a lot. But I don’t patrol. Works pretty well on people at typical engagement distances. LOTS of it around.

7.62 hollow points. I like mucho.

But I prefer AR ergonomics over AK ergonomics so I have more AR’s than AK’s.

Does not the 220 Swift erode barrel throats somewhat quickly? Or so I have heard.

Still, a cartridge that moves out that fast and flat might be worth re-barreling every few years.
