I know a lot about that neighborhood. Those stats are some what deceiving. That street is on the border of Overbrook Farms and Overbrook proper. In the old days a lot of city officials would live there because they had to stay within the city limits. Overbrook School for the Blind, Friends Central, Saint Joseph University and Cobbs Creak Golf Course are all around there. Going East towards 63rd Street and Lancaster Ave are the very poor areas to avoid.
Between Overbrook Farm and the bad lands you traditionally had very solid neighborhood made up of lots of Irish, Italian and Jewish working class families.

The bottom line is that this was a good neighborhood. and these animals went on the hunt for soft looking white men.

I have many fond memories of the time I lived in West Philly. Long ago. This crime has just saddened me terribly on so many levels.
