When I lived in the Rockies I wanted a Jeep so bad I could taste it! I ended up with a VW THING which fell apart parked in the driveway. It DID get me to the top of La Plata Canyon!

Next I got a Jeep V-8 Renegade which my wife told me to sell so she would have a vehicle she could get into.
Next it was a Scout which cost bou-coup of money to keep running. I almost had apoplexy when I found what a simple windshield wiper cost. $18 bux each! And that was thirty years ago! The Scout was later stolen, never recovered.

So I bought a used 1980 6 cyl Jeep someone had set up for muding. I still have that one, and I am no where near the Rockies now. Then there are the two 4-WD pickups I’ve bought.

Anyone see where I live understands why I need a 4-WD.

Took my longbed F350 crew cab up La Plata canyon in 2013. It is gorgeous up on top. Four mule deer hung around pretty close to us. Saw four guys on Harleys try that road—they, ummm, gave up and turned around. Talked to two babes in a Jeep who had made the loop drive and were coming down the canyon. They said it was a cool route but my truck was to big to do it.

I really need to go back to the Rockies on another vacation.
