I didn’t grab the Mooney...heck I owned it before. I knew all of her hairs and warts...and I also recalled the price of annual.
Thinking about a C172 with the Penn Yan 180 conversion. We have one in our CAP Squadron, and the full fuel useful load is 1071 lbs. A true four place bird.

I have the opportunity to take a Piper as my own, but I am balking. The annual, the fuel costs, the insurance, the FAA, all the rest. I just don't have the energy for it anymore.
Classic cars, Jeeps, yes. Those are easier. Aviation is serious business. Like owning a boat. You have to respect the Sea and you have to respect the Air. Both have tried to kill me on many occasions.

Looked at CAP if I get a pilot’s license. Doubt I’d be much good in any real capacity.
