The issue WRT the wide wheel track is the inherent instability that it produces.

The relationship between the length of the wheel base, and the width of the track is the most important factor in overall stability.

Dividing the wheel base by the width of the track gives the coefficient of stability. The larger that dividend is, the stabler the vehicle will be in conditions of uneven traction, such as snow or ice.

Jeeps, having a short wheel base, are naturally unstable, and a wide track exacerbates the problem.

Thanks so much for that info. I live in Wisconsin and we get our share of snow. I will consider something else. Thanks for taking the time to answer.
