It’s basically forty years away. I’ll leave it for the next guy to worry about.

But one suggestion here....if a guy could have his dream woman robot...why would he ever marry or hook up with a real woman? You might want to sit and ponder about this. All you need is half the sixteen-year-old kids in America to dream up their gal and get her, and the population strategy is screwed up within two-hundred years.

“There are fields, Neo, endless fields where human beings are no longer born. We are grown.” Morpheus, The Matrix.

For men, the machines will fulfill all desires. For women, the same. Men won’t have to deal with marrying the wrong woman, women will not have to deal with marrying an abusive man.

The upside to this is that I suspect divorce law will drastically change to entice both men and women back to real marriage which can produce kids.

Otherwise, we’ll still need kids, so we’ll grow them, and nanny bots will raise them! Or, we’ll cease reproducing as humans, and move our minds into the machines we make.

Futurama did a good episode on that, "I dated a robot":

The world ends up depopulated in the 'educational' movie shown in the episode.
