You can turn it off. I don’t recall how, but I did and there is no history showing for me.
Realistically, this is what these states are doing/going to do in order to tax your driving by the mile. And the sad thing is not that the government thinks this is a good idea (criminals are expected to commit crimes), but that most people don’t give a damn (victims are supposed to object to being robbed).
I checked mine, no history.
You need to turn ‘detect location’ off in the settings area.
And you cannot delete your history....scary.
It’s actually a very good thing as long as it’s not used for that. It’s not a slippery slope issue. The same argument could be made for Odometers: “By keeping track of miles driven the state can look at my odometer and charge me by the mile.”
This is a wonderful feature. And it’s something they’ve been tracking pretty much since day one. For ALL digital cell phones.
So, the gubmint is going to buy me one of those silly phones with all the colored crap on the screen? I sure as hell will not buy one or pay $80-$100/mo for that data package I see on mailers.
There is no history SHOWING, but I bet that google and the NSA are still saving the data to your dossier.
