“When a Brazilian Wandering Spider bites a man, its venom can cause a painful four-hour erection”
Are drug companies paying attention?
ACA covers spiders?
What happens when the spider bites a woman?
Mrs. Drill: "I don't see a downside."
Probably. There’s a lot of research into venoms and their potential benefits c.f. botox. This area in particular (erectile dysfunction) is ideal for moneymaking, but someone’s gotta write the grant proposal. What will really make someone a fortune is discovering the chemical key that lets men keep their hair. Most of the other things men care about have been solved to some degree, but hair loss is still only “fixable” with temporary solutions or surgery.
I can see why the woman was upset.

They must be, they advertise “4 hour erections” on TV all the time, and tell people that they should see their sawbones if their erection lasts longer than that.
