Great Pyramid, Egypt

I'm glad they were caught. Some got away with it, though!

Young women. More signs of our deep decay. It will take a generation or two just to recover. Children don’t even learn to chew with their mouths closed, let alone not carve their initials into ancient monuments or any property not belonging to them. We’ve got ignorant egomaniacs.

Their economy would completely collapse if it weren’t for tourism. Many historic locations were pillaged by the Italians themselves for their own homes or for needed building materials. They used to graze cows outside the Colosseum.
It’s capitalism that decides what gets preserved and what doesn’t.

Graffiti is now as common as Spanish in California. And not a coincidence.

What's with the generalization of people from California, or America, for that matter.
Other reports revealed that last year, a Russian, a Canadian, two Australians, and a Brazilian also were caught in the same act of carving their initials in the Coliseum. I'd say that's a pretty broad representation of stupid vandals from all over the world.
