It’s important because being saved, according to the Word of God, gives one a proper “worldview” in order to the make better decisions in light of that correct worldview.
I want a saved person, who is saved according to the word of God.
We could go into a lot more depth here, but that is the simple and short version ... :-) ...
That’s the problem, isn’t it? How do we determine who is saved when Christians can’t even agree on it. That’s why with all due respect, I don’t rely on Christians to tell me who is and isn’t saved. Remember the parable of the sheep and the goats? I think it is wisest for Christians to work this out with God in fear and trembling.
