I have a better suggestion. Let's remove all the dead presidents and put important Americans outside politics on our money. Further, let's dedicate each denomination to a special category. The person who appears on the bill should have been dead for at least 50 years so that his historical importance can be established. Each face should appear on the bill for ten years, and then a new face would be placed on the bill.

The $100 bill should be dedicated to American letters. I would start with Mark Twain.

The $50 bill should be dedicated to the American arts. I would start with George Gershwin.

The $20 bill should be dedicated to American science. I would start with Thomas Edison.

The $10 bill should be dedicated to the American military. I would start with George Patton.

The $5 bill should be dedicated to American women. I would start with Dolley Madison.

The $2 and $1 bills should be eliminated, using the Canadian example, and replaced with coins.

Let's bring back the $500 bill dedicated to American sports, and put Babe Ruth on it.
