I’m sitting here wondering what a .45ACP would do if these were used as the propellant instead of smokeless powder.
Breathe these nano-explosives in, and collapse. It might be 10 years before anybody has a clue as to what happened to you. But you will be in the ground. PING the Conspiracy List Freepers!!!
Actually, firearm propellants are more effective with a slower burn.
Melt the case and chamber.
This is a HOT explosive.

Here’s my understanding and I’m sure somebody will let us know if I’ve got it wrong. Different bullets require different speed explosives. Smaller bullets kill by shockwave and must travel fast, so their powder burns fast. A .380, for example, travels at 1200 fps. Larger bullets, like the .45 kill by transferring momentum and travel more slowly, about 800fps. Their powder burns more slowly.
It would turn your handgun into a hand grenade with most of the upper turning into melted fragments accelerating away at upwards of 5,500 FPS.
Now me, I'd much rather know what this would be like in the ACP round, and what it would do to the target.
Blow up in your hand?
Probably blow the barrel off.
I’m guessing it would disassemble itself — rapidly.
