Until I lived out in the country, I had no idea how dependent the farmers are on the weather for their livelihood.

A whole year’s worth of work or expected income can be down the drain due to a fluke in the weather, and not many of them have alternate means of obtaining an income.

Farmers were the first gamblers
Imagine the first of the crop, and the money that could bring
That is why farming and gardening is for gamblers, - you could win big time , ..or go " craps".
Look to Joe Bastardi for tomorow's Springtime forecast, or as "Groucho" used to say :" You bet your life", as a farmer and your livliehood .
Me , I'll wait until tomorrow, and see the Spr4ing forecast ...
