The Yamato was hit by 11 confirmed torpedoes , reportedly all port side to induce a capsize. Plus over a dozen bombs which knocked out fire and damage control systems. That’s quite the beating. How many did here sister ship endure?

FWIW, my late dad was there as a TBM pilot but was not part of the missions against the YAmato due to burns on his hands suffered as part of firefighting duties after a kamikaze attack on his ship the USS Barnes.

MUSASHI might have survived the aerial onslaught if she had put up a screen of grape. They had grape rounds for her 18” guns, but her Commander refused to fire them as he was afraid the rifling in the bores would be damaged.
