The unidentified female teacher was found deceased inside a classroom at El Dorado High School at 1641 Valencia Avenue just before school started Monday morning, according to Placentia Police Lt. Eric Point.
KNX 1070’s Pete Demetriou reports students and another teacher got her down to the floor and called 911 about 8:40 a.m. this morning
The discovery was made after students said the classroom door was locked during first period, according to Point. A neighboring teacher unlocked the door and students found the teacher hanging, Point said.

The death is believed to be a suicide, but no note was found at the scene, police said.

Wow. One of my wood shop teachers shot himself in the classroom. No one was in their at the time.

What a horrible thing to do to the children.
It is a tragic shame that teachers are in a trade that has so much cultural, social, union, administrator and public pressure put on what in the previous century was a straightforward job.
Who would have thought a century ago that post office workers would be stereotyped as ready-to-snap? We are creating stressful work environments with big government.
One would expect a teacher to hang around in the classroom.

This school is upper middle class, mostly white, in a very nice, upscale, and largely Conservative and Christian community in Orange County, California. Whatever the reasons for this tragedy, it is unlikely that social issues in the community had anything to do with it.
I’ve know a lot of teachers. They all quit because the parents harassed them.
Sounds suspicious. Hanging is a very unusual method for a woman to chose.

As a teacher, I just cannot imagine doing that to students...
Killing myself is hard enough to imagine - but this honestly makes me wonder if the teacher was trying to send some sort of message to the students. Not that there’s any excuse for this but it smacks of being some sort of sick revenge. And I hope somebody tries to find out why.
I know the neighborhood and it is as you say. Assuming suicide she really dumped on those kids. I have little sympathy for such a person.
Is it certain it was suicide?
High school. Was she about to be found out to be having a relationship with a student? Seems designed to cause maximum damage to students or school. I’m sure she has a home where she could have done it.
Her father had recently committed suicide also. That may have played a role in it. She may have been going thru some deep depression.
