Yep. Been in the flooring business since the mid 80s. There is no high quality laminate flooring, only high priced laminate flooring. It is all cheaply made stuff.

I have genuine hardwood floors. They need refinishing but you make it sound like this real floor is better than laminate. Laminates never need refinishing right?

There is no high quality laminate flooring, only high priced laminate flooring. It is all cheaply made stuff. The house I live in is 70 years old, has real hardwood floors, only had to refinish them once and that was because we were adding on to the house and thought it would be a good time to do it.
Don't think any laminate would make it 70 years, especially with the moisture we have in south Louisiana.
