I hate texting. I hate the way it restricts me. It's great that I can stay in touch while on the road, but it's a pain in the butt.
I can't reference my thoughts with links that would generally be a few "copy and paste" clicks away.
I can't stand the screen size of my "Smart Phone" and I have one of the largest available.
I hate using the pop up key board that tries to "Help" me.
Ever try to search for and paste a link to something that wasn't already planned for?
Good luck.
I love my PC.
I love that I have the ability to capture information and relay it in seconds. Information that may or may not be stored on my machine. A quick search and a few clicks and I can send it to you without jumping through smart phone hoops.
I hate Texting.
I hate BRB, and all the others that are making people lazy when trying to express themselves.
WTF !!
It's the death of us, the death of our language and the meaning of words in their proper context.
Touch screen convenience at it's best?".
Short cuts designed to "Help" us get our message across have made so many miss the message all together.
I hate Texting.
I hate cell phones!
Mine too!
Bag phone is analog. Its pretty tough to make an analog phone work these days. Most cell systems are digital now.
What is this texting? I just went from cassette to CD.
My flip phone still works and I gave up my iPhone.
Text to voice is more cool, though. Makes us sound like robots.
Are you trying to start an undead thread?
Iphone also lets you send a digital audio recording via text. Its the microphone on the right side of the text box. It sends a wav file. That’s the very best way to text.
Actually... I guess its the Apple version of a wav file....
Lol.
Think many get it?
bump
The people I work for instituted instant messaging (specifically Microsoft Lync) a couple of years ago. The IT guys are smitten by it but I couldn’t care less. I would prefer face~to~face conversation, or a telephone call, or at least an email that keeps a record (I don’t care WHAT Lois Lerner says ;’)
Recently our management team announced that IM was the “wave of the future” and demanded that we use it. They loaded it onto every computer in the company. So I have it installed, enabled, and signed in but minimized to the desktop. As far as anyone is concerned I am an active participant but I sure do miss a lot of “phone calls” LOL
My flip phone would have served me forever ... until I dropped it and it broke.
Hey, if you hate it, don’t do it.
Next ......
Use Siri, and you don’t even have to touch the phone.
You are not alone. I hate it too.
yep
Use Siri, and you dont even have to touch the phone.
Ok, try to use Siri to send a link to an article that supports your position.
Try using Siri to send a link to a song that you are talking about.
“No not that Band, no not hat version,,,,,,That’s not what I meant.”
Good luck
