In the Spike Lee movie “School Daze”, the Greek societies at a black college are divided between “jigaboos” (dark skinned) and “wannabes” (light skinned).
There is much color consciousness among blacks.

I recall a story a guy from work told about a guy he knew who had a CDL and he happened to catch up with him during the day when he was driving his delivery truck and came across his acquaintence at a traffic light at his new job, driving a city bus.
They had their windows open and the guy yells out the window to the bus driver, "What are you drivin? A Jiggaboo Jitney?!?"
