How about you just ignore a thread if it doesn't interest you. That's the "conservative way". This was published in the General/Chat area where
all sorts of things are talked about.
Actually, although I'm not in the market for HVAC right now, I got some good hints from this thread in case any of my friends are.

Determine BTU tonnage. Look up comparable unit on
http://www.budgetheating.com. Determine price with options and include life gate delivery. Best to match make and model as alterations for different models will cost you more money. Search craigslist for a licensed local installer or recommendations from neighbors. Get at least three proposals including a warranty on labor and materials. Installers must be licensed and warranty their work. Most new units have 10 year warranties and installers warranty vary. I had a unit furnished and installed for less than 50% of contractors complete price. Unit was 30% of the total for me to buy on Internet so I'm guessing that the contractor gets it for less than that!! Shop around on educate yourself - it will save you $$$$$.
