>>>Its just tougher to get men into a store in the first place. If I need an item that costs 10 dollars, I get the item and get the hell out. If I need an item and it costs 10 dollars, and I take my wife with me, we spend 160 dollars.<<<
I’m sure your wife would point out that everything she bought was on sale. And if the full retail price was $300 for those items she would feel so proud of herself for saving you $140. Dude, appreciate how much money your wife saves when you take her with.
You’ve bought into the lie.
Buying stuff on sale doesn’t necessarily “save” you money. That stuff takes up space in the house and if you’re worried about saving a little money chances are you’re not in a mansion with space to spare. Also requires good organization and knowing what you’ve got so you don’t overbuy and waste money on stuff you’ve already stocked up on.
There are other things to consider. I like bargains but the house can get cluttered with bargains thinking you’re coming out ahead. PLus $10 turning into $150 puts you down $150 in reality. Regardless that is debt. Not everyone can afford to have trips cost 10-20 times what they expected to pay even if stuff is on sale.
“Im sure your wife would point out that everything she bought was on sale.”
Yup. . .gotta spend 160 bucks to save ten.
Just say’n. . .
It's why some people vote Democrat. They believe this is a spending 'cut'.
Hey, that's my line (and I'm sticking to it!) :D
LOL! We have had exactly that conversation. She saves a lot of money with 20% and 30% there, I should be grateful.
