That was a funny episode. I still find the writing really smart. Other favorite show (quirky characters and great writing) Modern Family. I don’t mind replays of either one.
In which episode did Penny or Leonard say anything that implied that he or she might be gay?
“THE primary motivation for every single character on that show with the exception of Sheldon is SEX SEX SEX.”
IF you knew as many nerds as I do, you would know this is the most realistic part of the show.
(Remember in Revenge of the Nerds: All Jocks think about is Sports. All Nerds think about is Sex.
I didn’t start watching the show until last year. My Wife made me watch it because she knew I would like it if I tried it.
She was right AS Usual!
It’s not as funny, but the actors don’t care anymore because they are all getting $1 million a week. It happened to friends and Seinfeld.
Penny is not as funny and looks horrible with the short haircut.
Sometimes pretty hair is what makes the girl pretty, thought see was good looking, but with short hair she isn’t even average.
Her boyfriend, now husband, took a star pendant to the ISS in a later show and brought it back to her. That is what she wears.
Apparently she owns two necklaces. Maybe it’s one of the ways that TBBT promotes the gay agenda.
“The gay innuendo from Raj all of the time.”
Which is actually presented as being abnormal and wrong. The show strongly promotes heterosexual relationships and suggests there is something significantly wrong with the character who has homosexual overtones. Even the Raj character continuously says there is something terribly wrong with himself.
As far as jokes about gays, there are more of them here at FR than there are on that TBBT.
Good Point
“In which episode did Penny or Leonard say anything that implied that he or she might be gay?”
That isn’t what I said. THAT would be what the in your face gay agenda shows do. I don’t recall the specific episode but it is in the rotation on TBS. Penny talks about leaving a bar with a guy and another girl in the usual “uh....maybe” or “uh...I don’t want to talk about it” way that is a regular thing with Wallowitz, Koothrapali and Sheldon’s girlfriend. Don’t recall Leonard off hand but I wouldn’t bet my life it isn’t in there.
“IF you knew as many nerds as I do, you would know this is the most realistic part of the show.”
Then they’ve “considered sex” to the point of perversion.
It is the perversion of homo’s that drives them to the vastly sick levels of acting out. Remember, we SEE these people in public but we don’t SEE what they really are because they hide that in order to allow non perverts to imagine that the only difference between gay and straight is the object of desire.
Most shows on TV seem to have distorted view of normal. Reruns from the 80’s and 90’s show that it isn’t new. Watch “Frasier”; THAT show has hetro standing for gay sensibility to the nth degree.
Sure...so replacing it with a Star of David would make it better.
???
Canned laughter more than likely. I have never seen the show myself. No desire to either.
Not true at all. The biggest story line regarding being gay is making fun of Howard and Raj - as Leonard's mom accused them of having an "ersatz gay marriage" in a hilarious scene. The main actor is gay in real life, but there is no pro gay message that I've seen, and I've seen a lot of the episodes.
Leonard is the weak link in the show - but his suggestion - to use Jim Parsons as the character of Sheldon - has made them all rich. He was originally cast as Sheldon, and if that had gone down that way, it would not have worked.
Seems like the actor who plays Leonard might be a better director and producer then actor......
Howard has the best comedic timing by far.
You are correct - not a pro gay show at all. It’s pro promiscuousness - but always hetero.
And it is well written, and well conceived. What I really like about it is they pull the curtain bag on the money grubbing scam that is BIG EDUCATION and so called “professors” who are paid to do nothing all day. They are honest about that.
It does not promote the gay agenda - makes fun of it in fact at times.
His mother did.
Not tracking here, sorry - what was that a response to?
The best comedic timing. IMHO
ah, I see. She’s good too.....but I’m gonna stick with Howard on the timing...and the impressions too. Raj is good at being the wuss...and Sheldon makes the show. Penny and Leonard along for the ride.
And Kripke and Pria are awful characters. They detract from the show.
