This guy isn't western.
He's not modernized.
He's not moderate.
He doesn't care about the West.

And people in the West.. faced with such a weak leader as Obama.. are eating it up.
Putin is a DICTATOR! He is NOT.. I repeat NOT our friend. He isn't a friend of the West.
Every Soviet leader has used this "polishing" trick going back to Ivan the Terrible.

In Russia, Putin is doing what the people want, while Obama is doing what the people don't want. To top it off Obama is on the side the 'brotherhood' in Syria, Libya and of all places Egypt.

Here let me explain it to you, so even a Russian can understand it:
Your country destroys other countries and civilizations.
Your country has repeatedly attempted to destroy Ukraine.
Russians look at Ukraine as something to conquer for your own gain, not matter what the cost.
Why? Because Russia cannot live without Ukraine.
The U.S. is not a democracy.
Right now, today? Neither.
While not my favorite source, the Wikipedia article on Stalin’s pre-planned and intentional famine in the Ukraine is actually not bad.
There are also several good books that cover the subject. What you DO NOT want to do is read contemporary New York Times articles on the subject. Their “Pulitzer prize winning “ reporter at the time was nothing but an apologist for, and supporter of, Joseph Stalin. His reporting on the Ukrainian famine is a work of fiction.
The bottom line is, most of those who “complied” as you put it got nothing for their servitude but the “choice” of starving at a slower rate than those who stood against totalitarianism.
Your false analogy with the slaughter of Jews in Nazi Germany is reprehensible and I think you should seriously reconsider positing it in the future.
