I didn't notice this suggestion above, but maybe it's there: Download a free trial version of an excellent non-free security suite, then update definitions if necessary and run a full AV scan to let it eliminate your existing infections. Don't bother trying to install a trial of your expired previous security program, it probably won't work.

Here are some highly rated security programs:

http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2372364,00.asp

Links to free trials of the top three:

After you complete your scan and have a disinfected computer, install a high rated free security program such as Panda:

Then uninstall the trial program. You may have to do that before the free security program will install.

Yes, this requires is a certain amount of work, but you should never have let your computer onto the Internet without security software, and this way you let two independent programs try to fix the damage. Don't be too confident that they will succeed. Some of the new viruses are ridiculously hard to eliminate.

Sorry to be late to the party but ADW is currently my go to clean up tool and I have used it to clean up messes not fixed by every product I've thrown at it including multiple stand alone cleaners.

AdwCleaner

It's free.

It seems that whatever you tried, it knocked you offline.

I concur with most of the posts. Go to C/Net.com and download Malwarebytes, Spybot Search & Destroy, and either AVG or Avast (both are very good, only choose one though as you cannot have more than one Anti-Virus on your PC at a time or it will cause a lot of problems for you, so make sure your Kaspersky is removed also). All of these are free.

Install and update them. (Make sure to Uncheck any “Tea Timer” update in Spybot Search & Destroy anytime you update that program as it often causes conflicts).

1. Make sure you run Malwarebytes first as this will remove any issues from your RAM (in other words, if you don’t run this first, your virus, malware, or virus could reinstall itself after a reboot).

2. Run Spybot Search & Destroy second.

3. Run your Antivirus third (AVG or Avast, whichever you installed).

Always run these when you are having issues (I run all of them once a week myself) in this order and you should always be free of malware, spyware, and virus’s on your PC.

Hope this helps. Good Luck

Jumping late on this thread, but here is my input. Was a pc tech and troubleshooter and network IT about 15 yrs and owned a computer repair and networking business about 11 yrs.

Avast is best free AV imo. I have never experienced a problem with it and Malwarebytes but have heard that from others. AVG, lots of problems and a resource hog. Eset use to be good, probably still is but not free.

Get Malwarebytes, buy the premium version if you can but run the free version if you can’t buy it. If you put your money into anything put it into Malwarebytes Premium.

Also free Superantispyware, but buy it if you can for added protection. SAS does find nasties MWB doesn’t but MWB is a must imo.

I run Avast free (no need for paid ver imo), Malwarebytes Premium and Superantispyware paid version. They run fine together on my Win 7 - 64 bit Asus laptop.

Download Junkware Removal Tool and run it, it is free.

Don’t use Spybot anymore but it is free and good ware also.
Hey and I like Teatimer, never had problem with it.

Do you have a Firewall running? There is one built into Win 7. Is it turned on and updated?

Make sure Windows update is on to check for updates and update it whenever there are new updates.

A Router with firewall protection is good idea also but costs $.

Backup your important files to an external something..USB stick...hard drive.
