"Thanks for being honest Steve_Seattle. So many are under the delusion that pot is safe. My youngest asked for help last year getting off it as her addiction became uncontrollable and her quality of life was very low."

As I indicated on a post subsequent to my original post, there may have been some other substance in my brownie that made it much worse than marijuana alone might have been, but I stick by my belief that marijuana can be very bad for some people.

My nephew came down with bi-polar disorder soon after he began to smoke marijuana, and I think there might be a connection. Plus, it does seem to trigger psychotic episodes for some people; for many others, it induces paranoia, and they stay away from it thereafter. Others stick with it despite the paranoia, and perhaps that played a role in the Michael Brown episode.

Drinking coffee, watching t.v., or sunbathing for more than 10 minutes can be very bad for some people - so let's criminalize it!

Yeah, that's the ticket!

Um, you don’t ‘come down’ with bipolar disorder. It’s something you are born with.

It can induce mania and/or paranoia in someone who has bipolar disorder which is exactly what it did to me.

It made me very manic and it even messed with my mind to a certain extent.

It wasn’t relaxing or enjoyable at all.

I just recently read an article that said 1/4 of the cases being diagnosed as psychosis are marijuana based now. This may have been in Colorado or Washington where it is legal, not sure.

Marijuana does cause mental problems without a doubt with young users...permanent ones. And, chronic users become addicted and have the same problems associated with other drugs.

The misinformation out there is appalling as one delves into the real science of the drug to help a child.
