Meghan Kelly just reported that Marines were ordered by the state department to remove clips and surrender weapons before leaving the Yemen Embassy. She reports that it is unprecedented, backed up by Jack Keene. Marines under that order are furious.
I will look forward to your future insightful and thoughtful commentary on world events. Your posts #65 and #86 were quite useful thanks.
bump for more info
See post # 65 for a virtual identical story to your post. It is impossible yo keep up with everything posted on FR, isn’t it?
“What role did the open infiltration of the State Department by the Muslim Brotherhood have to do with these decisions?”
The primary (or perhaps sole) role, obviously. (Did you really even have to ask?)
Let’s all get past the post numbers conflap. Or go take our meds, like I had to, when this first broke. Tempers flare when outrages like this happen.
It was only breaking news on the Kelly File.
It broke quite a bit earlier in the day elsewhere:

I seriously doubt that the Marines were told to remove clips.
Well it is Obama/Kerry’s State Dept
Really something isn’t it? Well, actually sad really.
2008?
I’d go back further and see to it that his great grandparents never contributed to the gene pool.

go pound sand. Some people aren’t on Freerepublic 24/7.
I guess it's just my night for being the a$$hole in the room. What is rude is to attack a Freeper and not include them on the post. You've certainly been around long enough to know.
Not to mention the ALL CAPS.
Thankfully, this thread does seem to have settled down and it's pretty clear that the early information was either wrong or incomplete. Your comment on the significance of all of this remains to be seen, but it has the look of a complete collapse of the Obama/Jarrett Middle East policy.
Back (way back) when I was in, we were told that the only person other than a Marine superior we could surrender our weapon to was SAINT PETER.
Ten Belgian peacekeepers did that in Rwanda and it didn’t go well
Yes - I (and most others here) are aware of that.
What is brought into question is the circumstance under which he is supposed to have “looked down the tube.”
If you listen to the interview here -

You can hear that he is implying personal peril, in that he “looked down the tube” in the manner which someone would “stare down the barrel of a gun.”
But I suppose you could take his comment either way.
I think he was trying to imply courage, especially in the context of the rest of this interview, which was essentially a narcissistic reverie.
Dear God. If this is true it is a disgraceful episode in our history. These people, Obama and his administration, need to be stopped. The marines should have disregarded this illegal order and killed everyone in the vicinity.
Chesty rolling in his grave. It just keeps getting worse.
First I’ve heard of it. Not all of us live here, but a lot of us get our news here.
Thanks Toespi.
We have on friend in that geographic area. And its not Yemen.
