"Our dad was not only the bass player of The Crickets, he was the bass player of our family. He kept our family's steady rhythm by 'locking-in' with our mother just as a good bass player locks in with his drummer. It's that foundation that comforts us all." - daughter, Jennifer Mauldin.

I thought they all went down in the plane in that Iowa snowstorm. RIP.

Sonny Curtis and the Crickets had a hit with I Fought The Law. The Crickets were great musicians individually.

Oh man I can’t believe it, I’m a Buddy Holly fanatic. I was just talking the other day with some people how I been listening to the guy since I was a kid, since the 1960s and 1970s and to this day I still find songs of his I never heard before, the bands output was nothing short of phenomenal and Hollys pro recording career only last a year and a half!!!!!
Here’s one song I discovered a few weeks ago I never heard before, it’s amazing and of course right away I loved it.

I always thought Waylon Jennings played bass during this time. I know he was the bass player at the time of the crash. Maybe I’m confused.
