Anti lock brakes dont skid. At least mine dont.They do initially, if you hit the brakes hard enough. I've owned several vehicles with them, and there's always an initial skid, and occasionally additional skids as the brake system goes through its paces.

On that Escalade, the collision avoidance system is standard. The brakes were doing their own thing to the best of their programming. Seems like there should be trailer skid marks though.

I’ve tried it on both gravel and asphalt. No skid.
The only skid I can get is on snow or ice, and then it’s as you describe.
