It's the "Daddy's Little Princess" syndrome. The notion that a knight in "shining armor" will sweep them off their feet and will live happily ever after.

Men cannot live up to that fantasy.

My fellow women can be dumb. I don’t know what they’re thinking.

I have come to the conclusion that the good guys out there have gone into hiding because they’re sick of the crap they’ve been getting from those women.

Sorry, I think that is so retrograde! The actual problem today is that feminists spread the idea that women should be working and have a great career, having great sex every night, be in control of the marriage, and maybe even raising a family - all things.

Men have given up on these ladies (so to speak - one night stands are okay though) and have been looking overseas for women to marry. Yes, they are looking for companionship, family support, and homemaker, while they provide the economic benefits. Not going to happen here in the USA. After all, it is difficult enough to do one or the other but to do both by both parties is really unrealistic and will only be valid for a few years (or a year or so).

It really does take a merging of effort to make a good marriage and it can not take place if both are pursuing the same goals job wise. No family can ever be considered a higher priority. These opposite roles will never become the norm as they go against the DNA of our species.

Yeah, I expect lots of feedback from females even on this site! Have at it :^)!

Exactly.

Too many men are marrying these immature (emotionally) women who have the mentality of girls who think that it’s the man’s job to cosset and protect them at all costs, no matter what, or HOW they BEHAVE. That is so wrong.

I disagree entirely. This guy hit on something in the article and didn't even realize it. When "steve" was instructed to go to a baby shower, he refused and said he was going golfing. He did what HE wanted to do. A man's desire is not to please a woman, as the pussified assclown who wrote this article says.

A man's desire is to be a MAN. Being a male in today's society is nearly criminal. Men are not withdrawing from marriage and higher education because we "feel" that we aren't good enough. It's because we KNOW we are too good to subordinate our lives, goals and ambitions to some insufferable feminist bitch.

Well, some can't. It helps if the man can discern character. That takes time. That takes some scouting of the young lady's family. If she comes from a happy intact home with decent parents, and a father that sternly eyeballs you with great suspicion, and she has a lot of siblings who aren't screw ups, who you meet and even like, and yet she herself isn't putting out for you nor anybody else - that's the one you sweep. Find a way. Man up. Discover whatever her personal dragon is, slay it for her, and plop it on the grill with some BBQ sauce as if it were nothing.

If you're boning some chick after one drink, she's no damsel, and you're no knight.

roflmto....too many of the men are mimicking Bart Simpson or those two guys in Modern Family! A Knight in Shining Armour hasn’t been seen since the Romantic era. In fact I haven’t seen a guy open a car door for a woman in years...so living up to that fantasy is a joke. No men I have known in past thirty years have done that, nor have I seen any men even try.

Men come in three categories now, the hunter who is always gone, the sports enthusiast (never home) or the couch potato (tv addict). I hear women complain all the time. I don’t, because my husband is too old for it to matter now...but he does the trash and helps where he can....there is a fantasy we were sold as children that never was part of a modern reality. The 1800s, yes.

Most women would settle for taking out the trash and helping around the house when they also work, NOT the laundry of course. My clothes were two sizes smaller when my husband did the wash after we first married, so I made him stop. Men have a problem looking at labels and interpreting them...such as dry clean only...or do not wash in hot water. Do not dry on hot, etc. Some ruin enough clothes, so they don’t have to do it at all.

The Princess is rare, and usually not marriage material until she has been on her own for years, and learned the lessons of life she was protected from at home.

People make choices on how to live but lie to the people they are dating to get them in a relationship, however they don’t live that way IRL. Once the couple marry it is like strangers because like Bryan Williams, the truth was never part of the dating process. “How can two walk together except they be agreed?”
