It is a sign of how political discourse has hit rock bottom. Imagine a Daniel Webster or James Madison debasing themselves in this way. For those in the Commonwealth, a Gladstone, Disraeli, or Parnell lowering themselves like this. Call me an elitist, but more and more I feel I live in a world populated by morons.

You’re not an elitist....I agree that we live in a world full of morons, and I’m not an elitist either.

Used to be that the common man still had honour, even if he lived a simple life. It’s the actual elitists that have caused society to crumble.
