The archbishop of Ferrara-Comacchio has blamed Italy's economic crisis on abortions, while also describing the country's anti-homophobia law as a "crime against humanity".
Italy would have been prosperous if it werent for the countrys women terminating their pregnancies, Luigi Negri claimed.
"Abortion has stopped more than six million Italians coming into the world and the shortage of children has made us fall into this economic crisis, he was quoted in Corriere di Bologna as saying.
The 74-year-old archbishop also took issue with a law protecting gay people from hate crimes. The law against homophobia is a crime against God and against humanity, he said.

Too bad this Archbishop isn’t pope.
If that were the case then the evils perpetrated by Vatican II would be relegated to the dustbin of history and the new religion negated.
That’s right. But he forgot one more bad side effect: the economy that exists still needs workers. And entry level workers can be had by simply importing them.
So abortion doesn’t just kill the nation, it replaces it.
PFL
