The Nations Dave Zirin (the same journalist who brought us the genius idea that not cheering for the Seattle Seahawks is racist) wrote a post-Super Bowl column attributing the Seattle Seahawks horrible decision to throw a pass on the one-yard line in the final seconds of the game was due to the politics of race and an anti-Marshawn Lynch conspiracy. (VIDEO: Patriots And Seahawks Fans React To Malcolm Butlers Interception)
The theory, as relayed by Zirin, is that Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll called a pass because he wanted the young, clean-cut quarterback Russell Wilson to be seen as the game-winner, not the renegade running back Marshawn Lynch. The only source for this theory is a disgruntled anonymous figure in the Seahawks locker room.
Russell Wilson is your young clean-cut God-fearing media-perfect quarterback
Zirin writes, Hes Derek Jeter with a Bible, someone who comes across like he has never spoken out of turn in his entire life. Marshawn Lynch is
Marshawn Lynch.

The lunacy in this guy’s thinking is so thick you could cut it with a knife. Racism is the obvious bailiwick of the far left; but then, so is the defense of obamacare. In trying to divide even blacks into warring groups, zirin stomps all over the left’s platform. In trying to paint Wilson as a conservative republican in cleats, he ignores the fact he did a PSA encouraging participation in obamacare. He only proves that the idiocy of professional racists is a self-eating disease.
SOMEone wanted a great play, the longest yard stat or some such whatever and THAT was the basis for a throw that got intercepted
It is SUCH a human trait to want to be #1 and SOMEone forgot they were a team
They were so assured of winning ... etc., etc.
God hates pride of self and He took it away from the Hawks and gave it to the Patriots ... which I've mulled over quite a bit ....
At the last moment, God will give Patriots a victory over a carniverous enemy ... America will survive, but we've been .. and will be a little more ... beaten up before the victory
Butler did the right thing ... pointed upward and (I assumed) gave God the glory.
IF we remember it is God who is concerned with the affairs of men, and give HIM the recognition, there's no telling what kinds of messes He'll pull us out of
Yep ... I actually think and believe that way
Huh?
I cannot imagine that any Coach...Player...ANYBODY...Would throw the Superbowl over some BS Ideology, regardless of the nature of it.
This is the Superbowl we are talking about.
This is the Onion...Right?
I guess the writer is accusing Carroll of trying to give the glory to the less black of the two players. Too inane.
Newsflash, Richard Sherman- thug refers to BEHAVIOR, not to color. If the shoe don’t fit...
Yea but he “acts white”
Rob Lowe should like that one. Good job.
You laugh, but that’s what your conscience looks like, Bookman! </s>
Stealing that....
These people are sick in the head.
Seriously mentally ill. This guy needs medication, and quickly.
Bleacher Reports Mike Freeman, who explores the trade and locker room dynamic in Seattle, gives several reasons why some players have issues with Wilson, and he even suggests that some players believe the quarterback is not black enough.
Haven’t these idiots worn out the race card yet?
And a black guy making the interception?
I wish people would get over it. The call to “pass” was a mistake. Every team makes them, every player makes them.
Are there ANY Albinos in the NFL?
The strangest part of the article is actually a “correction”:
“I know - and knew - that Wilson is of African and Native American descent and not biracial”
Aren’t African and native American two races?
